AMERICANS' COMRIE CHL GOALIE OF THE WEEK
 

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Eric Comrie of the Tri-City Americans is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 23 after recording two shutout victories in two starts giving him a goals-against-average of 0.00 and a perfect save percentage of 1.000.

Comrie recorded his first two career shutouts in back-to-back wins against the Prince George Cougars.  The Americans won both contests by 1-0 scores with Comrie making 17 saves on Friday night as third star of the game, and then made 30 saves as first star of the game on Saturday. 

Comrie, a 16-year-old rookie from Newport Beach, California, has made six career starts this season for the Americans with a record of 4-2-0-0 with a goals-against-average of 2.75 and save percentage of .903.

Also considered for the award this week was Mathieu Corbeil of the Saint John Sea Dogs and Mark Visentin of the Niagara IceDogs.  Corbeil was also perfect in goal stopping all 42 shots he faced posting two shutout victories with a goals-against-average of 0.00 and save percentage of 1.000, while Visentin won two games including one shutout victory with a goals-against-average of 0.50 and save percentage of .984.
