Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Kamloops Blazers’ forward Colin Smith is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 3 after recording 10 points including four goals and six assists in four games.

The three-time WHL Player of the Week helped the Blazers pick up three wins last week beginning on Monday with a goal and two assists as second star of a 6-5 overtime win over the Kelowna Rockets.  On Wednesday he scored once despite a 5-2 loss to the Portland Winterhawks but bounced back on Friday by matching a season-high with five points including a goal and four assists and was second star of the 7-4 win over the Spokane Chiefs.  He wrapped up his week on Saturday extending his point-streak to six games with a goal in a 3-2 shootout win over the Everett Silvertips.

Smith, a 19-year-old from Edmonton, AB, is playing in his fourth full WHL season with the Blazers.  Selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche, Smith is currently third in WHL scoring with 86 points in 55 games scoring 36 goals and 50 assists for the Blazers who sit third in the Western Conference with 75 points.
