HAWKS RATTIE HUSKY WHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that forward Ty Rattie, of the Portland Winterhawks, has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for November.

The 18 year-old forward led all WHL goal scorers through November finding the back of the net 16 times and was second in scoring accumulating 28 points in 11 games played.  Rattie went on a six game goal scoring streak during November netting nine goals and 16 points during that span.  He managed 5 multi-goal games, including a four goal performance against Swift Current, and nine multi-point games through the month.  Overall, Rattie is currently tied for the WHL goal scoring lead with 27 goals and sits third in League scoring with 50 points in 27 games.

Rattie’s consistent play helped the Portland Winterhawks to a 9-2-0-0 record in the month of November and currently sit 2nd in the WHL U.S. Division with a 17-9-1-1 overall record for 36 points.  His efforts have also earned him a Three Star selection six times, with two being 1st Stars.

The Airdrie, AB product is playing in his third full WHL season with the Winterhawks who selected Rattie 2nd overall in the 2008 WHL Draft.  The 2011 second round pick of the St. Louis Blues will also attend Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp December 10-14 in Calgary.  He is currently the reigning WHL Player of the Week and this is Rattie’s first Husky WHL Player of the Month Award.

His accomplishments make Ty Rattie a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for November.
