KAL TIRE WHL WESTERN CONFERENCE

In Portland, OR, Ty Rattie and the Portland Winterhawks host Adam Hughesman and the Tri-City Americans for Game 3 of their Kal Tire WHL Western Conference Championship series on Wednesday.

The Winterhawks are coming off back-to-back 5-4 overtime triumphs over the Americans in Kennewick, WA, in the first two games of the series on the weekend.  Marcel Noebels scored the overtime winner in Game 1 of the series while Ty Rattie scored a hat trick, including the extra-time winner, in Game 2 of the series.  The Hawks are 5-1 through six home games in the post-season.

The Americans find themselves down 0-2 in the best-of-seven series after having lost the first two games on home ice.  All five of the Americans’ losses in the playoffs have come in overtime.  Hughesman shares the team lead with seven playoff goals, and ranks second on the Ams in points with 17.

The Winterhawks also host Game 4 of the best-of-seven series on Thursday night in Portland, OR.
