GIANTS HOST WINTERHAWKS – Brett Kulak and the Vancouver Giants (14-41-0-0) take on Nic Petan and the Portland Winterhawks (45-8-1-2) in the lone Western Hockey League contest on Monday.
The Giants are coming off a 4-1 win in Prince George over the Cougars on Saturday after having lost 6-4 to the Cougars the previous night, and currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference. The Giants won a 9-18-0-0 record on home ice this season. Kulak has 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points this season.
The Winterhawks posted a pair of victories over the Rockets in Kelowna on the weekend, winning 5-3 on Friday before posting a 5-1 win on Saturday night, and currently sit six points clear of Edmonton for first place in the WHL standings. The Winterhawks boast a WHL-best 23-3-1-1 record on the road. Petan scored four goals through their two games in Kelowna on the weekend.
It’s the third meeting of the season between the Winterhawks and Giants. Portland took the first two meetings, including a 9-5 win in Vancouver on November 9th.
