HITMEN HOST ICE – Alex Roach and the Calgary Hitmen (13-4-1-2) welcome Jaedon Descheneau and the Kootenay Ice (4-12-1-0) for a Central Division match-up in Western Hockey League action on Monday.

The Hitmen downed the visiting Victoria Royals 5-2 on Friday night in Calgary for their fifth consecutive victory, and currently sit in first place in the Central Division.  Calgary’s power play is operating at 16.0% efficiency on home ice this season, compared to 333% on the road.  Roach tallied two goals and three points on Friday night versus Victoria.

The Ice fell 4-1 to the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night for their eighth straight defeat, and remain in sixth place in the Central Division.  The Ice are playing just their fifth road game of the season on Monday.  Descheneau ranks third on the Ice in scoring with 11 points this season.

It’s the second meeting of the season between the Ice and Hitmen.  The Hitmen posted a 5-1 win over Kootenay on September 22nd in Calgary in the first meeting.

In other WHL action on Monday, Sam Fioretti and the Moose Jaw Warriors (8-8-3-3) take on Russell Maxwell and the Lethbridge Hurricanes (12-8-1-1) in Moose Jaw, SK.

The Warriors ended a three-game Central Division tour with a 4-1 win over Kootenay in Cranbrook, B.C., on Saturday, snapping a seven-game losing skid.  The Warriors own a 6-1-2-2 record through their first 11 home games.

The Hurricanes dropped a 4-0 decision to the Pats in Regina on Saturday night, snapping a for just their second regulation defeat over their last 13 games.  Maxwell leads the Hurricanes in scoring with 13 goals and 21 points.
