SUNDAY'S WHL MATCH-UP

SILVERTIPS WELCOME ROCKETS – Tyler Sandhu and the Everett Silvertips (10-15-0-2) host Myles Bell and the Kelowna Rockets (14-8-1-1) in the lone Western Hockey League match-up on Sunday.

The Silvertips edged the visiting Kootenay Ice 4-3 on Saturday night for their third win over their last four games, and currently sit in fifth place in the U.S. Division.  The ‘Tips’ last three victories have all come on home ice, where they are 4-5-0-2.  Sandhu scored his seventh and eighth goals of the season on Saturday night versus Kootenay.

The Rockets are coming off a 9-2 thumping of the visiting Saskatoon Blades on Saturday night for their second win in a row, and currently occupy second place in the B.C. Division.  The Rockets are 2-3-0-1 over their last six road games.  Bell scored a pair of goals and added an assist on Saturday versus Saskatoon, giving him 35 points this season.

It’s the first meeting of the season between the Silvertips and Rockets.  The Rockets won three of four meetings versus the Silvertips last season.
