ROCKETS BLAST THUNDERBIRDS – Carter Rigby scored his second consecutive hat trick while chipping in two assists to lead the Kelowna Rockets to an 8-0 thrashing of the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds in the lone Western Hockey League contest on Thursday.

Colton Heffley tallied a goal and three assists, Colton Sissons, Jesse Lees and Dylen McKinlay each picked up a goal and an assist, Tyson Baillie added a single, and JT Barnett picked up four assists for the Rockets (35-10-2-1), who post their 20th straight home-ice win and now sit just four points back of Portland for first place in the overall WHL standings.  Jordon Cooke made 18 saves to record his fourth shutout of the season and his 19th straight victory.

Brandon Glover and Danny Mumaugh combined for 28 saves in a losing effort for the Thunderbirds (18-28-2-1), who were outshot 36-18 in the contest as they suffer their second straight loss.
