TUESDAY'S WHL ROUND-UP
 

FESER LEADS AMS PAST GIANTS – Justin Feser scored three goals  and set up another to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 5-4 win over the visiting Vancouver Giants in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday night.

Malte Stromwall – with a goal and an assist – and Parker Bowles also scored while Zach Yuen chipped in three assists for the Americans (34-22-1-2), who earn their third win in a row and move past idle Spokane and Victoria into fourth place in the Western Conference.  Troy Trombley stopped 27 of 31 shots to record his third win in as many starts for the Ams.

Jackson Houck scored twice and added an assist for the Giants (15-44-2-0), who close out a four-game U.S. Division tour with a 1-1-2 record, while Blake Orban and Cain Franson also scored.  Jared Rathjen made 24 saves in the defeat for Vancouver.

REBELS 3, PATS 2  S/O

Dominik Volek scored the shootout winner versus his former Club as the Red Deer Rebels edged the visiting Regina Pats 3-2 on Tuesday night in Red Deer.

Turner Elson sent the game to extra time with the tying goal with 1:00 left in the third period while Rhyse Dieno tallied a goal and an assist for the Rebels (32-22-4-2), who post their third straight win and move into fourth place in the Eastern Conference.  Patrik Bartosak made 20 saves in regulation, and wasn’t beaten in the shootout to take the win.

Lane Scheidl scored his 30th and 31st goals of the season for the Pats (20-33-3-4),  who were outshot 42-22 through overtime as they drop their fourth straight decision.  Matt Hewitt made 40 saves in regulation play, but was beaten once in the shootout to absorb the loss.
