COLTON SCEVIOUR AND THE LETHBRIDGE HURRICANES HOST DEREK HULAK AND THE SASKATOON BLADES LIVE ON SHAW – Colton Sceviour and the Lethbridge Hurricanes welcome Derek Hulak and the Saskatoon Blades for Game 4 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference quarter-final series on Wednesday, March 25th.

Wednesday night’s WHL Playoff contest between the Hurricanes and Blades can be seen live throughout western Canada on SHAW (7:00pm MST).

The Blades took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series following Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over the Hurricanes in Lethbridge in Game 3.  Hulak scored the game-winner and added an assist in Tuesday’s Game 3 victory.  Tuesday’s victory was the Blades’ 29th road win this season, counting regular-season play.

The Hurricanes find themselves down 1-2 in the series after Tuesday night’s loss on home ice.  The Hurricanes outshot the visiting Blades 28-19 in Tuesday’s contest, but were foiled by Blades’ goaltender Braden Holtby.  Sceviour, the ‘Canes’ leading scorer in the regular season, has yet to register a point through the first three games of the series.

The Blades will host Game 5 of the best-of-seven series on Friday night in Saskatoon, SK.

Elsewhere in Husky WHL Eastern Conference action on Wednesday, Brenden Dowd and the Edmonton Oil Kings host Joel Broda and the Calgary Hitmen for Game 4 of their opening-round series.

The Oil Kings find themselves down 0-3 in the best-of-seven series and on the verge of elimination from the playoffs, having lost twice in Calgary to open the series then dropping a 4-1 decision to the Hitmen in Edmonton on Monday.  Dowd, the Oil Kings’ top goal scorer during the regular season, has been held off the score sheet through the first three games of the series.

The Hitmen hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the series and could advance to the second round of the playoffs with a victory in Edmonton on Wednesday.  Broda has tallied three goals and six points through the first three games of the series.

Tylan Stephens and the Kootenay Ice host Matt Calvert and the Brandon Wheat Kings for Game 4 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference quarter-final series on Wednesday.

The Ice dropped a 4-3 decision in overtime to the visiting Wheat Kings on Tuesday night to leave them down 0-3 in the best-of-seven series and on the verge of playoff elimination.  Stephens tallied his first goal of the playoffs in Tuesday night’s loss.

The Wheat Kings lead the best-of-seven series 3-0 and will look to finish off the Ice with a victory in Game 4 in Cranbrook, B.C., on Wednesday night.  Calvert is coming off a three-point effort on Tuesday, including scoring the overtime winner.

Tyler Ennis and the Medicine Hat Tigers welcome Justin Dowling and the Swift Current Broncos for Game 4 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference quarter-final series on Wednesday night.

The Tigers dropped a 5-2 decision to the visiting Broncos on Tuesday night, leaving them down 1-2 in the best-of-seven series.  Ennis has scored in each of the first three games of the series, and leads the Tigers with four goals.

The Broncos skated to a 5-2 win in Medicine Hat on Tuesday night to give themselves the lead in the series.  Dowling notched two goals and an assist in Tuesday night’s victory, and now has six goals and 12 points in 16 career post-season games.

Brian Matte and the Prince George Cougars welcome Craig Cunningham and the Vancouver Giants for Game 4 of their Kal Tire WHL Western Conference quarter-final series on Wednesday.

The Giants edged the Cougars 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night to give them a 3-0 stranglehold on the best-of-seven series, and can advance to the second round of the playoffs for a fourth straight season with a win in Prince George on Wednesday.  Cunningham scored the overtime game-winner in Tuesday’s victory.

The Cougars find themselves down 0-3 in the series, and will need to reel off four straight victories over the B.C. Division champs if they want to advance to the second round of the playoffs.  The Cougars are now 0-11 versus Vancouver this year, including regular-season meetings.

Tyler Maxwell and the Everett Silvertips welcome Jason Reese and the Tri-City Americans for Game 3 of their Kal Tire WHL Western Conference quarter-final series on Wednesday.

The Silvertips are coming off a 3-2 win over the Ams in Kennewick, WA, on Saturday in Game 2 to even up the best-of-seven series at 1-1.  Maxwell scored all three goals for the ‘Tips in Saturday’s win, with all three goals coming on the power play.

The Americans find themselves deadlocked at 1-1 with the ‘Tips through the first two games of the series.  Tri-cities outshot Everett 47-21 in Saturday’s Game 2 defeat at home.

Giffen Nyren and the Kamloops Blazers host Cody Almond and the Kelowna Rockets for Game 4 of their Kal Tire WHL Western Conference quarter-final series on Wednesday.

The Blazers trail the best-of-seven series 0-3 and sit on the verge of elimination after dropping a 3-2 overtime decision to the visiting Rockets on Tuesday night.  The Blazers let a 2-0 lead slip away in the third period of Tuesday’s extra-frame loss.

The Rockets find themselves up 3-0 in the best-of-seven series and need just one more victory to move on to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2005-06.  Almond scored the tying goal with just three second left in regulation and then potted the overtime winner in Tuesdays victory.

In other Kal Tire WHL Western Conference quarter-final action on Wednesday, Thomas Hickey and the Seattle Thunderbirds host Levko Koper and the Spokane Chiefs for Game 4 of their first-round match-up.

The Chiefs skated to a 5-1 victory in Kent, WA, over the T-Birds on Tuesday, giving them a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.  Koper potted two goals and two assists in Tuesday’s win after being held pointless in the first two games of the series.

The Thunderbirds trail the series 1-2 after Tuesday’s home-ice loss to the visiting Chiefs.  The Thunderbirds are 1-for-12 on the power play through the first three games of the series.
