WHEATIES PULOCK TO MISS TOP PROSPECTS GAME

Brandon, MB. - The Brandon Wheat Kings have learned that all star defenceman Ryan Pulock will not be joining Eric Roy at next week's Canadian Hockey League Top Prospects Game in Halifax.

The WHL club has announced that their 18-year old captain sustained a chipped bone in his wrist in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the visiting Calgary Hitmen and will be out of the lineup for the next two weeks.

A three year WHL veteran, Pulock is expected to be a possible first round selection in this June's National Hockey League Entry Draft and is currently second on the team in scoring with ten goals and 31 points in 37 games. The Grandview, Manitoba product enters the weekend as the eighth highest scoring defenceman in the WHL.

While Pulock won't be making the trip, Roy becomes the first Wheat King to participate in the Top Prospects Game since netminder Liam Liston represented Brandon two years ago.

A former first round bantam draft choice of the Wheat Kings, Roy enters Friday's game against the Warriors in Moose Jaw with seven goals and 24 points in 43 games.

In other injury news, the Wheat Kings will be without import right-winger Richard Nejezchleb for at least the next two weeks. He suffered a lacerated hand during Tuesday's game against Calgary. The 18-year old Czech Republic native received medical treatment after the game and will be sidelined indefinitely.

In 27 games with Brandon this season, Nejezchleb has nine goals and 18 points.
