WINTERHAWKS TAKE ON OIL KINGS, LIVE ON SHAW AND ROOT SPORTS – Sven Bartschi and the Portland Winterhawks welcome Mark Pysyk and the Edmonton Oil Kings for Game 3 of the 2012 WHL Championship series on Sunday night.

Sunday’s WHL Championship series Game 3 between the Winterhawks and Oil Kings can be seen live throughout western Canada on SHAW and SHAW Direct channel 299 (6:00pm PT).  The game can also be seen in the Pacific Northwest on ROOT SPORTS (6:00pm PT).

The Winterhawks downed the Oil Kings 5-1 in Game 2 of the series on Friday night in Edmonton, evening up the best-of-seven set at a game apiece.  The Hawks now hold home-ice advantage in the series, having won Game 2 on the road.  Bartschi scored twice in Friday’s Game 2 win, giving him 10 goals and 28 points in the playoffs.

The Oil Kings suffered their first home-ice loss in the post-season with Friday’s Game 2 defeat to the Hawks.  Edmonton lost their last road outing with a 5-1 defeat in Moose Jaw in Game 4 of the Husky WHL Eastern Conference Championship series.  The Oil Kings are 1-1 through their only two visits to Portland in franchise history.

The teams will meet up again in Portland for Game 4 the best-of-seven WHL Championship series on Tuesday.
