The Western Hockey League (WHL), one of the World’s finest development leagues with 22 Member Clubs throughout Western Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest, is inviting applications for the position of Director, Communications at their Calgary based WHL Office.
The WHL Director, Communications will be responsible to manage all aspects of the WHL Communications portfolio including media relations, the WHL website; social media platforms; WHL broadcast agreements and other media partnerships; WHL publications; WHL awards; the WHL results system and other special projects.
Candidates for the position should have experience in hockey or a related sports industry in the communications field. In addition, candidates should possess strong inter-personnel skills, must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects and have a working knowledge of website technology. A post-secondary degree in communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in hockey, at the Club or League level, would be an asset.
