The Everett Silvertips trade F Trent Lofthouse (18) to the Victoria Royals in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has traded for forward Trent Lofthouse (1994) from the Everett Silvertips. In exchange, the Royals have sent a sixth round draft pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft to the Silvertips.
This season, Lofthouse has appeared in 34 games for Everett. The 6-3, 185 lb forward has collected 12 points (9g-3a) to go along with 19 penalty minutes so far in the 2012-13 WHL season. Lofthouse recorded his first WHL hat trick last month in a December 4th win over the Vancouver Giants.
Lofthouse also spent the 2011-12 season as a member of the Everett Silvertips. In his rookie season, the Surrey, BC native notched two goals and three assists as well as 24 penalty minutes for the Silvertips and went on to appear in three games with Everett in the 2012 WHL Playoffs.
Prior to making his WHL debut, Lofthouse was a member of the 2010-11 Valley West Hawks team in the BC Major Midget Hockey League (BCMML). In 37 games played, Lofthouse recorded 16 points (9g-7a) and registered 40 penalty minutes.
EVERETT, WA – The Everett Silvertips today announced the acquisition of a sixth-round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft from the Victoria Royals in exchange for the services of 1994-born forward Trent Lofthouse. The Silvertips now possess 11 selections over the first seven rounds of the 2014 bantam draft.
Lofthouse, 18, is in his second WHL season after coming to Everett as a list player. In 34 games for the Silvertips this season, the Surrey, BC native has totaled 12 points on nine goals and 3 assists. He also has 19 penalty minutes and a -2 plus/minus rating.
“This deal gives us another chance to continue building through the bantam draft in the long term while giving more ice time and development opportunities to our young forwards in the short term,” said General Manager Garry Davidson. “We’d like to thank Trent for the work he has put in as an Everett Silvertip and wish him the best of luck in Victoria.”
A 6-foot-3, 185-pound winger, Lofthouse recorded five points (2g/3a) in 58 games as a rookie last season. He also appeared in three playoff games with the Silvertips in 2012. In 92 regular season WHL appearances, Lofthouse has 11 goals, six assists, 17 points, 43 penalty minutes and a -23 rating.
The Victoria Royals trade G Jared Rathjen(18) to the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a eighth-round pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
VANCOUVER, BC - The Vancouver Giants have acquired 18 year-old goaltender Jared Rathjen from the Victoria Royals for an eighth round WHL Bantam Draft Pick in 2013.
Rathjen is currently playing for the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. In 11 games with the Wolverines this season, Rathjen has a Goals Against Average of 2.99 and a 0.916 Save Percentage. The Prince George native played 26 games with the Victoria Royals in the past two seasons. In 4 appearances this season with the Royals, he had a 2-2 record, a 2.92 Goals Against Average and a 0.912 Save Percentage.
Rathjen will be joining the Giants in Edmonton for their upcoming Alberta road trip.

Victoria sends Rathjen to Vancouver after the Prince George, BC native posted a 2.92 goals against average and a .912 save percentage in four games played for the Royals this season. Rathjen was reassigned to the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) by Victoria last November.
The 6-1, 180 lb netminder spent the 2011-12 season with the Royals. In 22 games played, Rathjen held a record of 3-9-2-0 as a rookie in the WHL.
