Calgary - The Western Hockey League today announced the Players of the Month for January in both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference.
EASTERN CONFERENCE
In the Eastern Conference, which includes the East and Central Divisions, the Player of the Month is forward Justin Kelly of the Saskatoon Blades.
The 20 year-old from Abbotsford, British Columbia recorded 13 goals and 23 points in 11 games during the Month of January including seven power-play goals, one short-handed goal and three game-winning goals.
Kelly is a free agent.
WESTERN CONFERNCE
In the Western Conference, which includes the B.C. and U.S. Divisions, the Player of the Month is forward Duncan Milroy of the Kootenay Ice.
Milroy, an 18-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta recorded seven goals and 17 points in 11 games during the Month of January, including three power-play goals, a short-handed goal and three game-winning goals.
Milroy was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Justin Kelly and Duncan Milroy are deserving choices as the Western Hockey LeagueÂ’s Players of the Month for January.
