The WHL Regular Season Schedule consists of 72 games (36 home and 36 away). The WHL Schedule helps prepare players for the demands of professional hockey while also offering sufficient time to maintain regular attendance at school. The 2010-11 WHL Season consisted of:

-       WHL Regular Season – September 24^th to March 20^th

-       WHL Playoffs – March 25^th – April 14^th

-       MasterCard Memorial Cup – May 19^th – May 29^th

Players in the WHL have the opportunity to play in a series of special events during the regular season:

Subway Super Series

-          The Subway Super Series is a six game event in cities across Canada; the series features regional teams of CHL All-Stars competing against the Russian National Junior Team. As part of the annual series, Team WHL plays 2 games against the Russian National Junior Team.

-          In 2010, WHL stars Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Red Deer Rebels), Ryan Johansen (Portland Winterhawks), Jared Cowen (Spokane Chiefs), and Calvin Pickard (Seattle Thunderbirds), all played for Team WHL

-          The 2011 Subway Super Series will begin in the West in Regina, SK, on November 16^th at the Brandt Centre, and finish November 17^th in Moose Jaw, SK, at the brand new Moose Jaw Multi-Plex.

Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects Game

-          Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects game provides fans and NHL scouts the opportunity to watch the top 40 CHL prospects eligible for the NHL Entry Draft, held annually in June. The 2010 Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects game featured 17 CHL players that were selected in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, including Nino Niederreiter (Portland Winterhawks), Ryan Johansen (Portland Winterhawks), and Emerson Etem (Medicine Hat Tigers).
