Tuesday's WHL Round-up

PATS DOWN OIL KINGS – Garrett Mitchell and Matt Strueby each scored twice to lead the Regina Pats to a 5-3 victory over the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday, November 17th.
 
Matt Delahey – with his fourth goal of the season – also scored for the Pats (11-11-3-0), who snap a three-game losing skid and move back to the .500 mark.  Damien Ketlo turned aside 28 of 31 shots he faced to earn his seventh win of the season.
 
Tomas Vincour converted a first-period penalty shot while Logan Proulx and Tyler Hlookoff also scored for the Oil Kings (8-12-2-4), who have dropped eight of their last nine games.  Torrie Jung turned aside 29 of 34 shots he faced in the loss.

ICE 4, RAIDERS 3  O/T
 
Max Reinhart scored 4:14 into overtime to lift the Kootenay Ice to a 4-3 win over the visiting Prince Albert Raiders on Tuesday.
 
Kevin King notched a goal and an assist and Dustin Sylvester and Matt Fraser also scored for the Ice (11-12-1-0), who pick up their third straight victory and their fourth overtime win of the season.  Todd Mathews made 30 saves to pick up his seventh win of the season.
 
Igor Revenko scored twice and Sean Aschim also scored for the Raiders (11-11-1-2), who saw a 3-1 lead slip away as they drop their second straight decision.  Garrett Zemlak made 31 saves in the defeat.

TIGERS 4, WHEAT KINGS 3
 
Bretton Cameron’s 21st goal of the season 37 seconds into the third period turned out to be the winner as the Medicine Hat Tigers edged the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 on Tuesday.
 
Matt MacKay – with a goal and an assist – Zdenek Okal and Linden Vey also counted for the Tigers (13-9-2-3), who earn their second straight win and improve to 4-1-1 in their last six games.  Deven Dubyk made 19 saves to claim his second win of the season.
 
Brayden Schenn tallied a goal and an assist and Alexander Urbom and Darren Bestland also scored for the Wheat Kings (13-10-0-2), who went 1-for-4 on the power play in the contest.  Andrew Hayes made 19 saves in the defeat.

AMERICANS 5, THUNDERBIRDS 3
 
Johnny Lazo, Justin Feser and Brooks Macek each notched a goal and an assist to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 5-3 victory over the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday.
 
Neal Prokop and Tyler Schmidt also scored for the Americans (17-5-0-0), who scored five times in the opening period en route to improving their home-ice record to 8-0 this season.  Drew Owsley made 26 saves to record his WHL-leading 16th win of the season.
 
Prab Rai, Jeremy Schappert and Jonathan Parker scored for the Thunderbirds (8-13-1-3), who see their four-game winning streak come to an end.  Calvin Pickard made 27 saves in a losing cause.
